Back to FAQ's
1. What Is The Goal Of “A Light In The
Darkness” on Sunday, January 22nd?
It is our desire to shine the light of Christ’s love for the
unborn all across the Susquehanna Valley with thousands of
luminaries lighted outside of homes and churches on Sanctity
of Human Life Sunday from 6-9 p.m. We are asking every
church to prayerfully consider ordering at least one “Church
Luminary Kit” containing either 100 or 250 luminaries –
and to then make those luminaries available to individual
sponsors in your congregation for $1 each. Two thirds of every
luminary goes directly to help fund our ministries here at The
Pregnancy Care Center of the Susquehanna Valley (please see
4-page color flyer enclosed for further information about this
national event).
2. Our Church Wishes To Participate. What Do We Do?
It’s simple. Just order your “Church Luminary Kit(s)” on the
enclosed order form and return it to us at The
Pregnancy Care Center of the Susquehanna Valley by
THANKSGIVING along with your payment.
Then, please identify one individual as your “Church Liaison”
for this event. Many churches already have a member of their
congregation serving in this capacity with The Pregnancy Care
Center; this individual may also serve as liaison for A Light
In The Darkness.
3. How May Individual Members Of Our Congregation
Participate?
We’ve made that easy, too. Simply distribute the
pre-printed bulletin inserts IN EARLY JANUARY – several weeks
in advance of Sanctity of Human Life Sunday. This
insert is designed to assist your church in offering
luminaries to the individual members of your congregation,
allowing them to participate directly as sponsors – they may
then reimburse your church at $1 for each luminary they
sponsor. There is a special space inside this insert for
individuals to participate – and to dedicate luminaries in
honor or memory of loved ones (please see insert enclosed).
Inserts may be ordered at $10 per 100.

Your church may also make copies of the “Individual Luminary
Sponsor” form (shown below) – and post this form around your
church. This form is included at no charge in this packet
(bottom inside form) and is also available to download online
at
www.campaignforlife.org.

4. How Soon May We Begin Distributing Information Within
Our Church?
Immediately. Although the event takes place in January, we
encourage churches to begin to disseminate this information
now. This will help us spread word-of-mouth around our
communities, and will also give your church members time to
consider how many luminaries they may wish to sponsor 1) at
their homes and 2) at your church.
5. Are There Other Ways To Announce This Event Within My
Church?
Yes. There are many church materials available online right
now to assist you. They are ready to download and include the
following. You may locate them in the MEDIA section of
our website at
http://www.campaignforlife.org/mediaforchurch.asp.
• Church Posters
• Pulpit Announcements
• Sunday School Announcements
• Church PowerPoint Presentations – 2 Minute
• Audio Announcements – 77 Seconds (MP3)
• Broadcast Audio Message – 60 Seconds
• Broadcast Video Message – 90 Seconds (This Message Highly
RECOMMENDED)

You may also suggest Church members keep listening to WGRC
and WPGM for more information – they are our media
partners for this event in The Susquehanna Valley. WGRC
– 90.7/107.1 Williamsport, 91.3 FM Lewisburg, 107.7 FM
Bloomsburg, 101.7 FM State College, 91.9 FM Pottsville, 90.9
FM Lewistown; WPGM – 1570 AM and 96.7 FM.

6. When Should We Light Our Luminaries?
The event is scheduled for the fourth Sunday in January –
January 22nd from 6-9 p.m. (In the event of inclement weather,
the alternate date is the following Sunday, the final Sunday
in January. Churches are asked to make their own scheduling
decisions regarding weather considerations).
Some congregations are conducting prayer and worship services
at this same time on Sunday evening. With over 43 million
unborn American lives lost since 1973, we believe that such
services are important and appropriate, and we encourage your
church to consider such a service.
7. What if I still have questions?
That easy! Just call us at 570.523.6874. Together, we can
save lives – and help shine the light of Jesus Christ
on one of the darkest nights of the year – with
thousands of luminaries across The Susquehanna Valley and
all across America!
